Arsenal scored some great goals in their 7-0 Champions League Group Stage home win over Slavia Prague on Tuesday night, October 23, 2007. The win makes it highly probable that they will advance to the knock-out stages of the competition, but that good news has been overshadowed by the fluidity of the Arsenal build-up play and the lethal finishing.

Referee Stefano Farina of Italy - Stayed out of the way. Yellow card for Clichy looked fair (7).

Cesc Fabergas - Scored the opener and got a second. His two goals were both great - great runs to be in the right place at the right time and lethal finishing. Without these goals, he still would have had a great game with his typically great midfield play. In top form (9).

Hleb - Nice close-control and pass for the opener. Scored from a Cesc corner for the second that took a deflection from a Slavia defender. Started the second half on fire with another goal, an assist to Walcott, and the decisive run for Arsenal's sixth (9).

Theo Walcott - Got the nod ahead of Eduardo to start up front alongside Adebayor, and took full advantage of the chance. Stole a clearance from the Slavia keeper, then rounded the keeper to score Arsenal's third. Scored a sweet second (Arsenal's fifth) with the outside of his right boot. One touch pass perfectly weighted for Fabregas to score his second (9).

Adebayor - He's not a center forward who hides up front, he drops back and gets involved in the build-up play. Some nice skill in the build up to Arsenal's sixth. Looks a likely candidate to keep his place in the side (8).

Eboue - Had a very good game, including a sweet assist to Bendtner for Arsenal's seventh. Reduced the giveaways from his previous start against Bolton. Heavily involved (8).

Flamini - A bit of a quiet game, no big mistakes, but the forwards and attacking midfielders were mostly able to take care of things by themselves (7).

Clichy - Got forward well. Defended well. Picked up a yellow card, which can be inconvenient in this competition. Not overly exerted (7).

Gallas - Not overly exerted. Helped keep a clean sheet (7).

Toure - See Gallas (7).

Sagna - Got forward well. Defended well. Not overly exerted (7).

Almunia - Made one nice save, but was rarely called upon (7).

Substitutes:

Gilberto - Slotted in and looked quite alright (7).

Bendtner - Looked lively and bundled in a goal (7).

Rosicky - Looked dangerous, hit the post (7).

High art from the Arsenal; great pace, ball control, organization and finishing.
