Arsenal's title rivals dropping points

Arsenal can extend their lead in the Premier League to 5 points with a victory at home versus Blackburn tomorrow. Title rivals Manchester United were turned over 2-1 at home by Manchester City and Chelsea drew at home against Liverpool, 0-0.

United-City was the early game, but some neutrals, who have sworn to the practice fixture-viewing moderation, limited themselves to the Chelsea-Liverpool match. It was disappointing not to see Torres. Among the Liverpool players who did well, from the vantage point of my sofa: Crouch, although he could have scored, Mascherano, Gerrard, Carragher, Skrtel, and maybe Babel. For Chelsea: Makalele. Chelsea had a spell of pressure near the end of the game, but we're mostly uninspiring.

Huge thanks to Man City who have now done a double over United. Arsenal supporters are hoping their side will be five points clear this time tomorrow, on the back of a resounding Monday-night victory.

This is a great chance for Arsenal to add to the distance between them and the two nearest rivals. This is the time to do it and Arsene needs to get the players motivated and focused despite all the injuries. The offense seems to be ok with Cesc, Hleb, Rosicky, Ade, and Eduardo available but the defense is a worry. We don't know whether Flamini is fit; same for Senderos even though I heard that Kolo did not play on Saturday so he might be able to contribute.

I would not be too disappointed if we drop points against Blackburn because there will be more of these opportunities from now until May. Advancing in FA Cup and Champions League is also very important so if we don't beat Blackburn but beat Man U. and AC Milan I will be happy.
