I, for one, just found out that Russia can play some nice football.
I thought Holland was lucky to only be 1-0 down in regular time when they equalized in the 84th minute.
Russia picked up where they left off in added time, creating countless scoring opportunities, and converted a couple of them to finish the match 3-1.
As a supporter, you want your team to play pretty much exactly like Russia played today.
Maybe Holland leaving a lot of space at the back helped Russia look especially good, and it looks like they'll be missing some of their players who got too many yellow cards, so maybe Russia will get bounced in the semi-final, but if they can continue to play like they did today, they'd be worthy Euro 2008 Champions.

After blasting through tho GoD, I expected more of the Nederlanden. What is with two spuriously European contries (Turkey, USSR) in the semifinals. Viva l'espana.
Viva l'espana, y Cesc, muy fuerte.
What does WD.com focus on once Euro 08 is over? Olympics? Politics? Arsenal's offseason moves?
I saw the Zenit Petersburg match in the UEFA cup and realised that this Arshavin dude and his Russian team is for real...Hiddink is the best tactical coach in the current generation...no doubt
Freekicker - You're policy of following all the football you can paid off. Arshavin, the Russia #10, could be the player to get me to watch the UEFA Cup, although I wouldn't be surprised if he were lured to one of the G14 that will be playing Chmapions League football in 2008-2009.
That's what Ruud said - There are teams of bloggers covering Arsenal's offseason moves down to every quote from every agent who mentions Arsenal. That probably won't stop us from chiming in from time to time - all options are on the table.
There's football in the Olympics, so that could be somewhat interesting.
On the political front, the big battle, from my perspective, has been won: no Clinton or Bush at the top of a major ticket. We could discuss some of the major debates in the Obama-McCain matchup, but a lot of the political silly season is no better than following quotes from agents.
