The 12-minute highlights of Arsenal's draw away to Szombathelyi Haladas were a bit on the drab side, which should come as no surprise to any sane person, but came as a bit of a let down for me.
Nicklas Bendtner continues his run up front. Wilshere got a start after his good performance in the first friendly. Vela got his first game as an Arsenal player, and had some good touches in the highlights.
I'd like to see Arsenal scoring goals for fun, but there were few signs of lethal finishing on display. Walcott's goal came from a one-touch finish setup by Bendtner.
It's got me half wondering if big Nick will get a chance in the first 11 to start the season, in place of Adebayor. On balance, from what we've seen over the whole of last season, Adebayor is a better player by some distance, but Bendtner has potential, and could get better.
The highlights of that game will have Arsenal Supporters looking forward to the return of more first-team regulars.

Are you starting to worry about relegation? Because I am. I don't even think we're going to sniff Champions League this year.
Gooners are gonna blow this year.
Insightful commentary, Wicked E. Might I assume Man U or chelsea affiliation. 433 and glancing header--is this a general football site or an Arsenal fanboy love group? I bookmarked during Euro 08, but notice a decided slant in your coverage. 433--I worry that your overly aggressive pro_Arsenal stance leaves you vulnerable to counterattack.
Great names. Wicked Erection is right off the top shelf.
Relegation? Bit early to sound that alarm, I'd think, but can't hurt to keep expectations low.
Don't all general football sites eventually mutate into Arsenal fanboy lovegroups?
We could do with a Spurs season preview, though, if you're volunteering.
Did you ever read this piece from a writer for ESPN choosing a Premier League team to follow? He did is homework, had all the right information, but still scored an own goal. I don't read his stuff, although I have it on good authority that he's a good writer, but I don't think he wrote any follow up pieces on how it was going following his new team, and who can blame him?
I'm perplexed as to why you took down my insightful commentary on the Berbatov/Keane imbroglio, so don't expect a season preview from me any time soon.
I am not a fan of Simmons, but I did read his piece on picking an EPL squad to back. While I appreciated his rationale, I was worried at the time that Spurs were going to become the chic, bandwagon club for US fans. Alas, Arsenal can still lay claim to that distinction. I might search and see if Simmons did a follow-up piece. As a Boston fan he has likely become used to success in the last couple of years, and might have trouble continuing to root for Spurs.
Appreciated his rationale?
For me, the rationale is roughly equivalent to saying that after careful research you've learned that it would really hurt to slam a door on your cock, but you like being unconventional, so you're going to give it a try.
