Arsenal Pre-Season: Gunners come from 2-0 down to win 3-2

The beautiful game was tainted a bit today, I gathered from the audio commentary and highlights, by some shoddy defending, but that was overshadowed by 3 second-half goals: 2 from Adebayor and 1 from Bendtner, as Arsenal defeated Ajax 3-2 in Amsterdam.

Eboue put in a really nice cross for the opener, Adebayor set up the second for Bendtner, and Denilson did really well to set up the winner.

Have you read the short story "Ajax is all about attack" by Jim Shepard? Highly recommended. It is in his collection "Love and Hydrogen." I also highly recommend his newer collection "Like You'd Understand, Anyway." One of the better US short story writers working today.

I haven't, but I'm curious now, especially about that Ajax short story. Ajax won Europe 3 seasons on the trot, allegedly playing attacking football.

There was some Arsene Wenger quote, I wish I could find a link, about how his style was modeled after Ajax of the 70s.
