As a football supporter, I find that a good blog is a great addition to media websites. First, it's nice to have more voices available, but more than that, a well-written blog provides better coverage than most media outlets.
As the new Arsenal season is under way, I've been looking for some more Arsenal blogs to follow - I need my fix. I'm a loyal reader of several already, including Arseblog, East Lower, Goodplaya, Goonerholic, Gunnerblog, and the Cannon, but after a match like that Newcastle game, it couldn't hurt to have a couple more sites to read that wax lyrical about Arsenal's beautiful football.
With this in mind, I was interested in a link on Arseblog this morning to a page in the NewsNow aggegator service with a filter by Rocky that removes Arsenal-related content that he considers "crap." (I suspect Rocky would likewise designate Wicked Deflection if we were listed in NewsNow, unless, perhaps, there's a way to submit only the blog entries that are worthwhile. I'd be loath to submit my ideas for stadium chants to a service intended to aggregate news.)
Here are the sites designated by Rocky, fairly or not, as crap:
4thegame.com, all3points, Arsenal Muse, CaughtOffside, Clubcall Sports, EatSleepSport, EliteFootball, Extra Football, FC Barcelona Blog.com, Fans FC, Football Corner, Goal.com, Le Grove, Pink Football, Premiership Latest, Soccerlens, Soccervoice, Soccerway.com, Sportingo, TEAMtalk, Talking Soccer, The Daily Mail, The Soccer Blog, Arsenal Insider, TribalFootball, FootballFanCast, Clubcall, The New Football Pools, Evening Post, Evening Echo, Chronicle, Echo, The Gooner Forum, Epping Forest Guardian - Sport, Epping Forest Guardian, Orlando Sentinel, Football FanCast.com, Man Utd Blogger, 4sportsake.com
Rocky has marked these sites as reliable:
Arsenal.com, Arseblog, Gunnerblog, Goodplaya, Reuters.co.uk, Vital Arsenal, Goonerholic, and East Lower.
Some of the sites marked as crap are sites that the authors themselves must surely agree merit the designation: sites that post fictitious transfer rumors every 15 minutes. Others, possibly, have been hard-done-by? You tell me.
