Well, the hostile comment came before your predictions were true. I've heard that truth is a defense for libel, so it might take a little sting out of my argument.

It wasn't all that hostile, just something about how it's rich that a Spurs supporter, of all people, would be predicting doom and gloom for anyone, let alone mighty France, and dismissing your prediction out of hand.

I am feeling pretty isolated with my enthusiasm for that single goal, but man was it ever a relief.

It's definitely a case of, "You had to be there."

There's a big difference between 270 minutes of absolute pain and frustration with no stop, and 270 minutes of pain and frustration with 30 seconds of hope thrown in to mix it up. Still, I really wish they could have made past the 60-second threshold before conceding again.

I'm definitely pulling for Spain, and hoping that Cesc sees a lot of playing time.

I pull for the French clubs in Europe, but, aside from Lyon, they haven't been making it very far in the competition. If Lyon hold on to Benz, I wouldn't be surprised to see them finally take their Champions League campaign past the quarterfinals. I thought he looked great for France while he was in there. He had that sweet bender on target that Buffon saved. Great save, I thought.

Ah, well I am a Frenchman living in the US so I support all French teams equally in the Eurocups, I don't really have a favorite in the French first division because I'm from a town that doesn't have a big team (Angouleme) although my family used to support Bordeaux at one point. And you? :)

Amidst the frustration, I do feel gratitude for the old guard who have brought so much glory.

I like Domenech way more than Santini and Lemerre, but I sometimes wonder at his selction: Boumsong rather than Mexes?

Still, I'm mostly with you, in the non-Domenech-hater camp. Don't get rid of him unless you can bring in someone better. I might be tempted by Deschamps, but I wouldn't mind seeing Domenech stay on.
